Hayabusa
Founded in 2006 in Kingston, Ontario, Canada, Hayabusa came out of the MMA boom and quickly became one of the most visible combat sports equipment brands globally. Co-founder Luke Harris, a former professional MMA fighter, was inspired by the quality of gear he encountered training in Japan and wanted to bring that standard to North America. Hayabusa takes a technology-first approach to glove design. Their flagship T3 Boxing Gloves feature a Dual-X interlocking wrist closure system developed through university research partnerships, and the brand markets heavily around hand and wrist alignment data. They were the official competition glove of Glory Kickboxing and have collaborated with Marvel and Star Wars on limited edition lines. Georges St-Pierre has been a long-time brand ambassador. The product range is wide, covering boxing, MMA, Muay Thai, BJJ, and general fitness. This breadth means Hayabusa is not a boxing-only brand, which matters to purists. The gloves are well-constructed and widely available through direct-to-consumer sales, with pricing in the mid-range to premium tier. They appeal strongly to fitness-oriented fighters and those crossing over from MMA rather than traditional boxing-first athletes.
